Process requirements
Food and beverage clarification must balance visual quality, flavour and aroma preservation, throughput, yield and hygiene. Incoming solids may include pulp, haze-forming particles, processing aids or precipitated material. A staged approach protects fine media and makes batch performance more repeatable.
Product-contact documentation is grade-specific. Customers should request the current declarations required for the product and market rather than treating a general “food grade” phrase as universal approval.
Process design
Coarse screening or settling can remove bulk matter. Pulp pads, sparkler media or lenticular sheets then provide depth clarification. Activated carbon pads may be evaluated for selected colour or odour compounds, while PP pleated cartridges can polish clarified liquid before filling or a further validated barrier.
Temperature, dissolved gas and product composition should be maintained during trials so sensory and throughput results represent production.
