Industrial air filtration
Pleated spun-bonded polyester cartridges with application-specific surface treatments for compact industrial dust collection and pulse cleaning.

Operating principle
A dust-collection cartridge draws contaminated air through pleated media. Particles are retained mainly at the outer surface while clean air passes to the cartridge core. Pulse-jet or other cleaning reverses flow briefly to release the dust cake into the collector hopper.
Pleating fits a large filtration area into a compact envelope. Open pleat spacing and surface treatment influence cake release, pressure drop and cleaning-air demand.
Media design
Sri Bharathi publishes 100% polyester spun-bonded media formed into a cylindrical pleated pack, supported by a metal core and encapsulated with metal end caps. Sponge-rubber sealing can provide positive fitment. The media is described as thermally bonded without a binding agent.
Available treatments referenced by the source include PTFE coating or lamination, aluminium or stainless-steel antistatic coatings and fire-retardant coating. The coating must be matched to the dust hazard and operating environment.
What to evaluate
01
Published filtration areas range up to 20 m².
02
Pleated polyester supports dust-cake release and pulse cleaning.
03
Moisture/oil, antistatic, fire-retardant and sticky-dust options are referenced.
04
Supports cleaning access and reduces dust bridging.
05
Pleated bags may replace some conventional bags without collector modification.
06
Flange, three-lug and standard configurations are listed.
Technical data
Values below are limited to information published by Sri Bharathi. Final grade, compatibility and operating limits must be confirmed against the actual process.
| Selection parameter | Available / verified information | Engineering relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Base medium | 100% polyester spun-bonded media. | Confirm temperature and chemical exposure. |
| Length | 300–1400 mm to customer requirement. | Match tube sheet, cleaning system and available clearance. |
| Diameter | 150, 225 and 325 mm. | Controls fit and filtration area. |
| Filtration area | 0.96–20.0 m². | Verify actual pleat geometry for the quoted element. |
| Treatments | PTFE coating/lamination, aluminium or stainless antistatic, fire retardant. | Choose around dust release, moisture, static and combustibility risk. |
| Mounting | Flange, three-lug and standard. | Provide drawing and sealing details. |
| Cleaning | Application-specific pulse or reverse-air system. | Air pressure and frequency affect life and emissions. |
Process fit
Published industries include pharmaceuticals, steel, power, powder coating, cement, chemicals, metals and minerals, and paints and pigments. Dust testing and hazard assessment are essential before selection.
Antistatic or fire-retardant media alone does not make a dust collector explosion safe. The site must assess dust explosibility, ignition sources, grounding, venting or suppression, isolation and applicable regulations with qualified specialists.
Questions engineers ask
A coating or membrane can improve surface release, moisture/oil resistance or fine-particle control depending on construction. Confirm the quoted treatment.
Not if pleats are packed so tightly that dust bridges or cleaning air cannot reach the valleys. Area, pleat spacing and cleaning must be balanced.
No. It is one component of a collector system. A formal dust-hazard and explosion-protection design is required.
